Tabatinga beach is situated at the easternmost point of South America, in the state of Paraíba, in the north east of Brazil. Tabatinga is about 190 km south of Natal, 25 km south of João Pessoa and 120 km north of Recife.
The beaches in the area, including Tabatinga, are ranked as one of the best beaches in Brazil. White sand, palm trees and good weather year around make these beaches very popular with brasilians. But the foreigners has not yet (!) found their way here. And during the week, when the brasilians are working, you can have the beaches all by yourself.
Due to its location at 7 degrees south of the equator, Paraíba has summer like weather all year round. The rainy months are June through August, when the dry breezes blow which makes it very comfortable here – 70-85 F. Even in the summer months December through February (80-95F), the weather rarely is uncomfortably humid as it is further to the north in cities like Fortaleza. There is always a light breeze blowing with plenty of sunshine. At night the temperatures drop so as to make it really comfortable.
The state of Paraíba in the north of Brazil is little known and rarely visited by foreign tourists. When you want to escape the crowds of popular tourist attractions like Natal, Pipa and Recife, Tabatinga is the perfect choice. As you can see on the photos of the area, the beaches are all empty of people.
